On Site audio is a fully mobile recording studio capable of delivering adaptable configurations according to clients' needs and goals. We travel to you and work with you in the environment you create in: your rehearsal space, kitchen, backyard, live gig, studio--almost anywhere. We will probably consider even recording your set at some super underground noise-fest in a disused water cistern.
We can provide conventional recording scenarios: Stereo and multichannel room recording for band demos and/or acoustic groups; stereo and multichannel combination of room and close mic'-ing of instruments; single and multi-channel recording for voice-over, dialogue, or advertising copy.
Our fully mobile studio allows On Site to readily consider working with clients whose needs cannot be fulfilled by a conventional studio including unusual recording configurations for sound design or bands/ensembles simply wanting to experiment with new processes of recording during their session. On Site's small gear footprint also makes us prime to consider for clients needing to record in unusual spaces or unusual, sonic phenomena that may be better captured in situ or in the field.
In addition to a one of a kind collection of traditional microphones we have a small but growing collection of specialized transducers, such as proboscis / insertion mics and contact mic/piezos for registering vibrational audio through solid media.
On Site uses a variety of microphone transducers, including CAD mics with selectable cardioid patterns (omni, directional, hypercardioid, figure 8), Rode and Audio Technica matched stereo pair condenser mics, GLS clones of SM 57 & SM 58 (circuit specs of higher quality than current production runs of 57 & 58 from SURE) and hyper-sensitive/directional Pyle Audio analysis mics, which can function for close mic'-ing of instruments, voice, or as boundary mics to capture reverberation impulse responses in small acoustic spaces.
We also have a number of one of a kind microphones rebuilt with circuit schematics from Neumann. Capture devices include a Zoom Audio H8n handheld and time-code sync capable Zoom F4 field recorder. We also employ a Cymatics 16 channel, live multi-track capture interface. We are perfectly able to do additional overdubbing, DSP and rough mixing (in Reaper) as required by the client at additional and competitive cost.

On Site is excited to get in touch with you and discuss the logistics of your project and work out details of rates and scheduling. As each job is different, we don't post rates publicly here. However, our engineer labor and travel is based on regional averages for a studio recording engineer with commensurate experience. On Site operates in and
around Lafayette, LA in the heart of Cajun country, but perfectly willing to consider jobs in east Texas or along the
Mississippi/Alabama Gulf Coast area considering appropriate travel compensation.
